Born August 15, 1943, in Cordoba, Argentina, to Anibal and Esther Mena. She moved to New York City at the age of 24 where she continued her education attaining a Master's degree in education. Maria taught English as a second language to kindergarteners at

She was always smiling, telling funny jokes, and being a ray of sunshine to all who knew her. She leaves behind her sons and daughter, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
