Jermaine Michael Jones was born on April 8, 1971, in Bronx Lebanon Hospital, to Daniel J Jones Sr & to the late Patricia Ann Hall. He graduated from Alfred E Smith H.S. in the Bronx. A man of many talents and with that held various positions within the workforce
throughout his lifetime. One of Jermaine’s positions was at Beth Israel Hospital, Manhattan. He was very proud of this position where he was able to work alongside his father. While working in this job for several years he earned a reputable reputation for
being reliable and a dedicated worker all while earning the title of Union Delegate. Something which he was very proud of. During this time period Jermaine became heavily involved in church and even joined the Men's choir. He began studying to become a chaplain where he worked.
Growing up Jermaine became well known and loved in the neighborhood called Twin Parks. It is here that he loved to display his very distinctive style of dress and was given the nickname of “Black”. Jermaine embraced this name given to him by his closet friends in the neighborhood.
In 1993, he would meet Doris Ditmar at a BBQ held by his Grandma Betty. Their relationship would grow and cultivate a love that many love stories could have been written about. Out of that love they created a beautiful, healthy son; Jermaine Jr.
Jermaine was the type of person who was a joy to be around. He had an infectious laugh and a grand sense of humor.
On the Sunday before he passed, he spent a beautiful day visiting his family in Connecticut. Embracing each one of them, laughing, joking, sharing encouraging words and taking plenty of pictures. It was a day filled with love. One thing about Jermaine is that
he was a family man. His family came first. He loved very heavily on his family. He loved each one of them.
On January 15, 2025, The Lord called him home. Jermaine “Black” will truly be missed and always remembered. His spirit will live on not only through his wife, Doris; but with their son Jermaine Jones, Jr.
