Obituary of Teri Delong

September 25, 2025

Teri A. Lynch-Delong

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Teri A. Lynch-Delong, 41, on September 25, 2025, after a courageous battle with addiction.

Teri was born in Presque Isle, Maine, on February 27, 1984, the daughter of Lori (Lynch) Devoe
and the late Richard “Dick” Lynch. She was a 2002 graduate of Fort Fairfield High School.

Teri was a bright light to all who knew her. She had a unique ability to connect with others and
could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. A true social butterfly, she never missed
an opportunity to share a laugh with others.

In her younger years, Teri enjoyed picking potatoes, skiing, skating, and snowmobiling. She and
her brother spent countless summer days riding four-wheelers around their grandparents’
property and apple orchard. When they took a break, they could often be found at the town
swimming pool, where both joined the swim team and competed to see who was the fastest
swimmer in their age group. Like many siblings, they shared both a close bond and the
occasional rivalry, remaining inseparable throughout childhood.

In 1998, Teri’s talent for singing earned her the honor of becoming the first-ever Junior Miss FortFairfield. She cherished participating in parades, greeting the crowd with her signature wave
and infectious smile.

Throughout her school years, Teri was a dedicated and competitive athlete who enjoyed
basketball, soccer, softball, track, and cheerleading. During high school, she and her teammates
earned Eastern Maine Runner-Up titles in both softball and cheerleading; an impressive
accomplishment for competitors from a small town.
Teri had a lifelong love for animals, especially cats, which always seemed naturally drawn to
her.
In her early twenties, Teri made her way to southern Maine, living in Portland, Buxton, and Hollis
before eventually settling in Limerick. She loved the sense of community and small-town
atmosphere that reminded her of home. Over the years, she worked various local jobs in and
around Limerick and enjoyed the relationships she built through her work.

Teri was also a former co-owner of Nature’s Way Greenery. As a business owner and floral
designer, she loved working with the public and helping others cultivate and enhance their
gardening experiences. She found joy in arranging bouquets, creating hanging baskets, and
designing beautiful centerpieces for special occasions. Teri especially loved sharing her
knowledge with children, often reminding them that bees are not scary but essential, and
teaching them about the important role they play in helping produce many of the foods we enjoy
every day.

She also loved cooking and baking sweets, skills she proudly learned from her mother and
Grammy Smith. Teri delighted in learning family recipes and discovering the little tips and tricks
that made each dish special.

Teri enjoyed watching and feeding birds and would often call her mother and sister to share her
latest sightings.
Of all Teri’s accomplishments, her greatest pride and joy were her two sons. Through
motherhood, she learned patience and the depth of unconditional love. She treasured spending
time outdoors with them; whether at the lake, in her garden, riding four-wheelers around home,
or simply enjoying quiet evenings together roasting s’mores over a fire and listening to the
sounds of nature. For them, music was never necessary when they had the beauty of the
outdoors around them.

As a family, they loved snowmobiling and riding four-wheelers while taking in scenic views. Each
summer, they traveled to New Hampshire to attend NHRA drag races, a cherished family
tradition. Every few years, they also attended the Grass and Water Drags. Teri and Brett’s
passion for motorsports was passed on to their sons from a young age.
In 2017, Teri and her family traveled across the country in their RV, visiting historic American
landmarks and creating lasting memories together.

As her sons grew older and developed a passion for competitive sand drag racing with their
modified four-wheelers, Teri could always be found on the sidelines cheering them on and
capturing every moment. She took immense pride in watching them earn top rankings, trophies,
and racing jackets. Though she may no longer stand beside them, her family finds comfort in
knowing she will always be cheering them on. Teri will be deeply missed by her sons, family,
and many friends.
