Mercedes Lois-Castro, born on July 11,1937 in Manhattan, NY was sent to her eternal home on April 20, 2026. Mercedes was the beloved daughter of Juanita and Distinio Lois, Sr.

Mercedes was a calming and generous spirit which touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was overflowing with the love and compassion for others and faith in God. This untimely passing leaves a void in the hearts of family, friends and countless others who knew her.

We ask that you remember her not for the way her life ended, but for the profound impact it had on everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.

Once her commitment concluded she embarked on a lifelong journey of Flamenco dancing. Mercedes performed across the globe and maintained an instructional dance studio for several years in New York.

As time passed, she was blessed to have a family with Marco Castro and his loving daughter, Darlene. The wonderful impact of family also grew to include her love of pets. She gave a loving home to her dog-Missy,cats-Tux & Coee.

To a loving and wonderful sister, aunt, step-mom, friend, teacher, and fur-babies mom, we will miss you and love you forever!
