Obituary of Florence Ziegeler

Florence Ziegeler
June 30, 1926 – February 20, 2026
Florence Ziegeler, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and dear friend, was called home to the Lord on February 20, 2026, at the age of 99. Born on June 30, 1926, she was a longtime resident of Manhattan Plaza, where she formed lifelong friendships and created countless cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of many.
Florence was predeceased by her beloved husband, Peter John “Buddy” who passed away in 2012, and her cherished grandson John Rocco, who passed away in 2007. While she carried the sorrow of those losses, she remained a woman of quiet strength, unwavering love, and deep devotion to her family and friends. We find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with them in eternal peace.
She leaves behind a loving family who will carry forward her legacy of faith, compassion, and unconditional love: her devoted son Peter Rocco; her grandson Peter and his wife Donna; her granddaughter Nicole Coyle and her husband Christopher; and her treasured great-grandchildren Julia, Alexandra, John, Peter, and Cayleigh. She is also lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, whose lives she touched in meaningful ways.
Florence found her greatest blessings in the simple joys of life — time spent with family and friends, evenings watching Family Feud, trips to the movies, and gathering with neighbors for coffee or themed holiday parties in her building. She had a beautiful gift for bringing people together and making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Her warmth reflected the light she carried within her.
To know Florence was to witness kindness, generosity, grace, and unwavering love. She was truly beautiful inside and out. She always went above and beyond for those she cared about, offering support, laughter, wisdom, and comfort whenever it was needed. Her life was a reflection of a heart devoted to others.
Her legacy is one of enduring love, strength, faith, and family. Though she is no longer with us physically, we trust in God’s promise of eternal life and take peace in knowing her spirit lives on. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. The memories she created and the love she gave will continue to guide and bless all who knew her.
