Obituary of Deborah Lynn Mayer

January 13, 2026

Deborah Lynn Mayer passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, after a short but courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by a close circle of dear friends.

She was an award-winning producer for both television and special events. She was funny, smart, witty, worldly, a fitness enthusiast, a photographer, a talented floral designer, a devoted, loyal friend and sister, to name just a few of her many talents and attributes.

Born December 9, 1954, Deb grew up in Downers Grove, IL. She attended the College of William and Mary, and graduated in 1977 with a B.A. and a major in Economics. After living briefly in Washington, DC, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, she made her home in Manhattan.

Deb was a participant in life, not a spectator. Nothing kept her down. Deb loved travel and adventures – she went on many trips with friends to Europe, the Caribbean, the Galapagos Islands, including a stint working in a French vineyard stomping grapes and, many years later, fulfilling a life-long dream to walk the Camino de Santiago.  She also had a rich life in her Hell’s Kitchen home, where she was an avid card player (a shark at bridge!) and a devoted member of St. Clement’s Episcopal Church where she served for many years on the vestry.

Deb was an extraordinary person, a true friend, and a bright light to all those who were lucky to know her.

There is a memorial service on Sat. Feb. 7 at 2pm at

St. Clements Church

423 W. 46th St.

New York, NY 10036

In lieu of flowers, donations in Deborah’s name may be made to God’s Love We Deliver, or to St. Clement’s Episcopal Church and Theater, New York.
