Barbara Bernice Thompson

April 11, 1942 – April 11, 2025

Barbara Thompson, a gifted psychotherapist, devoted animal rescuer, and lifelong seeker, passed away peacefully, carried by the love she gave so freely to others.

Born in Kenyon, Minnesota, Barbara was the second of five children of Evelyn and Wayne “Doc” Bohan. She studied at the University of Minnesota and the University of Washington, later earning master’s degrees in addiction counseling from NYU and Fordham.

For over 30 years, Barbara helped others heal through her psychotherapy practice, offering insight, compassion, and unwavering support. Her love for animals was equally profound—her home was a haven for countless rescued pets over the years.

She brought a creative, curious spirit to everything she did. A mentor, a guide, and a student of life, Barbara inspired those around her with her warmth, wisdom, and open heart.

She is survived by her sons Christopher Michael Davis and Barrett Douglas Davis; daughter-in-law Mischelle Davis; and grandchildren Hannah and Jackson. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael Thompson.

Barbara’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she so generously shared.
