Obituary of Guy Rogers Mokolo

Guy Rogers Mokolo, age 59, a former employee of the NYC Human Resource Administration,
passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 20, 2024, in Manhattan, New York.
Guy Rogers was born in Ovan, Gabon on March 16, 1965, and was the son of Francois Sime
Nang and Martine Nyngone. Guy was a remarkable athlete in his younger years. He achieved
the prestigious gold medal in the African Karate Championship in 1992, and proudly
represented Gabon in international karate competitions across more than 20 countries,
including Spain, France, and Japan. His love for the sport ultimately helped him immigrate to
New York City in 1993.

In his personal life, Guy lived an active life. He enjoyed going on long walks at Yankee Stadium
and had a passion for physical fitness, spending hours in the gym lifting weights. He also spent
his free time working on various computer projects.
Guy Rogers dedicated 14 years of service to the Human Resource Administration of New York
City as an IT Help Desk Technician, where he demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication to
his work. He was meticulous and very capable in his work and was admired by many friends
and colleagues.
Guy will be deeply missed by his loving family, including sons Frederic and Ulrich Mokolo,
mother Martine Nyngone, stepchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and many other
relatives and friends whose lives he touched.
Guy Rogers’ legacy of kindness, strength, and perseverance will forever remain in the hearts of
those who had the privilege of knowing him.
