Obituary of Patrick Kelly

Patrick James Kelly of Queens, New York left us in peace the morning of December 23, 2023, at the age of 39. Pat was born to Diane (Kelly) O’Connor Kimball and Edward James Kelly May 21, 1984 in San Diego, CA. Adoring father to seven year old Amy Emerald Kelly. Patrick also leaves behind his brother Ryan Edward Kelly of Sherman, CT, stepdad Lee Kimball, Uncles & Aunts Kevin and Sue O’Connor of Arizona, Mary Ellen O’Connor of Florida, Carol and Michael Brennen of Connecticut, Noreen O’Connor of RI, cousins Numi, Ifrane, Aila, and Kaelyn Brennen, Colin and Griffin O’Connor, Casey O’Connor Zionts, and Olivia O’Connor as well as partner Monique Matefi of Forest Hills, NY and her parents Ildy and Arpad Matefi of New Milford, CT, Mary and William Macher.

 

Growing up in Milford, CT, Patrick graduated High School in 2003. He moved to NY in 2017. On his days off Pat enjoyed playing handball as well as a good game of chess in the park with his buddies. He was immensely proud to have been initiated into the Stagehands Union, IATSE Local 1 on June 25, 2018, and worked throughout the union’s jurisdiction.

 

Patrick was a gifted carpenter and craftsman, at one time restoring century-old houses in Norwich area. He worked as a Bass Crafter at Upton String Bass in Mystic, CT creating beautiful string instruments. Patrick had worked on SNL sets for NBC as well as the GMA Summer Concert Series in Central Park, Madison Square Garden, The Met, and many other venues throughout NY.

 

The greatest joy and accomplishment of Pat’s life was his daughter Amy. He was a loving and adoring father. Amy was the light in Pat’s life, and truly the love of his life.

 

Pat will be painfully missed.
