Obituary of Joan Moody

Please join us in expressing our gratitude to the life of Joan Moody. Born in the spring of 1944, in Bamberg, South Carolina, she was the only girl in a band of brothers, to which laid the foundation for her strength and fortitude. She moved to New York City to build a life for herself. She became a mother to 3 sons to which her strength and fortitude was needed to raise them.

Throughout her life she endured many challenges and through them all she emphasized the importance of hard work and having the willingness to fight for the thing that you want. She was a Registered Nurse, beloved and respected by all who knew and worked with her. Her strength and fortitude were equally matched by her sincerity of heart and graciousness in all that she did.  She is survived by her sons, Dwayne (Monica), James and Christopher (Sandra). Grandmother to Christopher James, Madison, Olivia, and Sydney. Great-grandmother to Karma, Za’meira, Kameron and Mariyah.
