Obituary of Ms. Rosario Blacer
April 3, 2019
It is with great sadness that the family of Rosario (Charito) L. Blacer announces her peaceful passing on Wednesday April 3, 2019, at the age of 85 years at her home in Manhattan New York. Rosario will be lovingly remembered by her husband of over 50 years, Leonito, her children, Mary (Charlene), Grace, Tristan, Zeff and her sister Mary A. Lopez. Rosario will also be fondly remembered by her 4 grandchildren, Emmellene, Richard, Chloe and Savanna (Zoe) and her great grandchildren, Killian and Coraline and forever remembered by her numerous extended family and dear friends.
A native of the Philippines, born on October 7, 1933 to Filomena P. Lopez and Ceferino G. Lopez, Rosario graduated as a Pharmacist and moved to NYC to raise her family. Rosario worked at Brooklyn Hospital and retired from Lenox Hill Hospital. From also working with the sisterhood at a convent to volunteering in electoral and political events, she helped and touched the lives of many. As the family humanitarian, she was loving and caring to everyone she encountered. Animals were no exception. As an optimist, she always found the good in everything and everyone. Her laughter was infectious and when she looked at you, she would give you the biggest smile as if to make you forget about the stresses of life. She always helped those in need and made sure everyone was well fed. She offered shelter for visiting relatives and close friends whenever they visited. To help others, Rosario would put her own needs aside. She cared deeply and believed strongly in the Catholic Faith. She would always be the last person to exit a church after mass because she prayed and prayed, sometimes for hours and she prayed not only for her family and friends but for the world. She taught her children to love, care and be loyal to one another and she especially instilled belief in God and the value of religion. Rosario independently took action for the benefit of others like, Mother Teresa and lived by the golden rule 'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". She lived life to the fullest though simple pleasures by spending time with family and friends chatting, reminiscing and cherishing what life has to offer. She had a special ability to touch the lives of others in a deep and positive way.
Rosario (Nanay, Manang), We will always carry your memory in our hearts.

Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. I will keep the Blacer family in my thoughts & prayers.
I will always remember the time I got to spend with my mother in law. She loved looking at photos and listening to me read verses from the Bible. I am blessed with these memories which will never leave me. Rose, I will pass memories down to Savanna Zoe so she can remember oh man too.
Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. May she rest in peace.
Love Always,
Your Daughter In Law,
Kerri
