Obituary of Ms. Dasiaa Koll

December 25, 2019

Today we celebrate Dasiaa Koll, also known affectionately as Little Diva, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, goddaughter, friend, ally, and artist.

Dasiaa grew up on the Lower East Side of New York City with her mother Odiles, uncle Sammy and grandmother Felicia. From her earliest childhood memories, she grew up listening to late '80s and early '90s Hip-Hop/RnB and with the help of her uncle Sammy, developed a true love and passion for the era. It was in her youth that her family discovered the talent Dasiaa would later make her life's passion. What began as songwriting to her uncle's instrumentals as a child became her educational focus in her secondary and university years.

Dasiaa graduated from Talent Unlimited High School for the Performing Arts in New York City in 2014. She received her Bachelor of Music & Vocal Performance from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2018. It was in her years in college where Dasiaa's professional singing career began with her first EP/Extended Play, "A Phresh Story" released in January of 2015. "Cassette List" followed and was released in 2019. Dasiaa's hit single 89 was released under nicethingsMUSIC in 2017 and has over 500K streams on all platforms.

Dasiaa adored her mother, was best friends with her uncle Sammy, and treasured all things musically influenced. Her infectious laugh, unique quotes, and love of old school Hip Hop/RnB made her a truly genuine soul that affected lives in the best way possible. She will be truly missed.
