Obituary of Valerie Sue Hamper Sharinn
August 12, 2020
Valerie Sue Hamper Sharinn was born in Boise, Idaho August 12th, 1976 to Cherry Lee and Edward Hamper. She was happily welcomed by four older brothers and one older sister who adored her. She was the baby of the family and had everyone wrapped around her finger.
Valerie had a vibrant personality and great sense of humor, she was never at a loss for making friends. She had a warm spirit about her but could tease with the best of them! She grew up very close to her Grandmother, Dorothy Mumford, and they had a very special bond.
Valerie attended school in Boise, but later moved to Victor, Idaho, to live with her Aunt Julie and Uncle Bart for her senior year of school. They loved having her in their home. She always had a video camera in hand and a creative new skit she had written, produced and filmed, and a plethora of cousins to cast in the role. Valerie enjoyed her time in a small town, but she was destined for the big city life. She moved to NYC after High School to be closer to her big brother Joe Hughes. She fell in love with the hustle and bustle of the city. There was always something to keep her zest for life satisfied there. Valerie was also a movie connoisseur. She loved old films and could tell you anything about any silver screen actor.
Valerie met Scott Sharinn and they were married in 2001. Scott and Valerie welcomed their pride and joy, Ashton Lee Sharinn in 2006. Valerie was always meant to be a mother. Nothing filled her heart more than watching Ashton shine on the stage or excel at sports. She no doubt passed on her love for the spotlight and vivacious sense of humor to Ashton. She was so proud of him and he was her world.
She was the world's best Aunt and loved all her nieces and nephews dearly. You always knew you were loved by Valerie, because she never missed an opportunity to tell people she loved them. She had a warm comforting hug, and a genuine smile to go with it that we will all miss.
Valerie sparkled brighter than any star in the sky. Her light shined so strong & vibrant that it burned out too soon. We will always remember her beauty and love for her family that will never fade from our hearts and lives. As we recount her sweet gentle spirit, smile and most of all laughter.
She is now reunited with our father in heaven, her mother, father, grandparents and many other ancestors and loved ones. They watch over us all until we are together again. We love you Valerie Sue and will miss you always and forever.
Valerie is survived by her son, Ashton Sharinn of Forest Hills, NY. Her five siblings, John Lupher of Southern Pines, North Carolina; Bill (Chris) Lupher of Jerome, Idaho; Rob (Monica) Reagan of Boise, Idaho; Joe Hughes of Waltham, Massachusetts; Jennifer Henkle of Boise, Idaho.
She is predeceased by her Father Edward Hamper (1983) and her mother Cherry Lee Collins (2003)
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
