Obituary of Katharine Corrigan

Katharine Corrigan died peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.

She is survived by her brother Jack Corrigan, of Naples, Florida, nieces Lisa Masur and Katharine Corrigan, nephews David Masur, Keith Masur, and Patrick Corrigan as well several great-nieces and nephews. She is also predeceased by her sister Patricia Masur and her brothers Edward Corrigan and George Corrigan.

Katharine was born in Newark, NJ on November 2, 1926. She graduated from Caldwell College, NJ, and received a Master's degree from Fordham University.
Katharine spent her professional career working as a Psychotherapist for the Veterans Administration in New York City where she treated many of the mentally wounded warriors from the Vietnam war and other conflicts. She was also a long-time resident of New York City.

In her work for the Veterans Administration Katharine was highly regarded as an effective therapist who was compassionate and caring. After her retirement, several of her patients continued to come to her for counseling. She continued her practice until her death at age 95.

In addition to her private practice, she spent her retirement with activities that included working as an "extra" in a Hollywood film/TV, traveling to England and Ireland, and cruising the Caribbean. She was committed to living healthy and preaching that to her family. She was an inspiration to all of us.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
