Beloved father and grandfather, theater artist, author, and revered teacher passed away at home on November 29th at the end of an extraordinary life in the theater, surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by sons Christopher (Leslie Weber) and Matthew (Stephanie Checkle), grandchildren Lucas and Clea, and countless grateful and adoring students and colleagues.

Michael Howard was a wonderful teacher, artist, human being and friend. Seeing Mike always put a smile on your face and when he left you, he left you with a warm feeling in your heart. He was loved and admired by many, and he will be missed by more, much including me.

Marvelous acting teacher and mentor for so many of us.
My life is eternally blessed having had Michael as a director in MAJOR BARBARA at Boston University in 1976 and being his student from 1977 to 1984 In NYC and visiting the class after that over the decades. Any artistic success on any level that I experienced In this life was a direct result of Michael's guidance. I am so eternally grateful. Will love him
always.
