Obituary of Daniel Goodman

April 11, 2022

Daniel Alexander Goodman was born on September 26, 1992, in the middle of a hurricane. A poignant metaphor for the energy and spirit that carried him through his life, which was cut tragically short at the age of 29.

Dan was born to Bruce Goodman and Laurie McNally in Pennsylvania, where his larger-than-life personality and dimpled grin immediately uplifted the lives of those around him. After graduating from high school, Dan went on to pursue his degree in History & Economics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Upon completing his degree, Dan fulfilled his lifelong dream of making New York City his home. Where beyond establishing himself as a trusted financial advisor, Dan touched countless lives with the charity of sharing his message, lighting the way through his trials and triumphs for those in search of a brighter tomorrow.

The quality community he built and the bonds inside of it deserve a word deeper and more meaningful than simply "friend," but Dan loved his friends. In addition to that community, he is survived by the most important women in his life - his mother, Laurie McNally, who paved the path of strength that Dan would carry through to his own life and could always surface his quintessential grin. As well as his sister, Nicole Goodman, who he frequently referred to as the best person he's ever met and would share with all who would listen how proud he was of her. Dan is also survived by his aunts, uncles, many cousins, and his beloved partner, Caroline Jones.

Dan was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Goodman, from whom he received his undeniable charm and a fervent love of athletics. For Dan, the memories of playing sports with his parents cheering from the stands, and watching landmark victories, such as the Eagles' 2018 Super Bowl win, alongside his father were some of the hallmark moments of his life.

Services will be held at Crestwood Funeral Home, 445 W 43rd St. New York, NY, on Saturday, April 23, from 2-6 pm, with the eulogy scheduled for 3 pm and visitation immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Dan's name.
